Hello, I’m Shine Krishna

a product and experience designer from Auckland, New Zealand and I have been designing B2B and B2C digital products and journeys for enterprises and startups, serving customers and staff for over 12 years.

I am dedicated to positively impacting people's lives through a customer-first approach. I enjoy crafting delightful and human-centric experiences by simplifying complexities and embracing big-picture thinking.

I've learned a few things along the way

Zooming out is my superpower. I use journey frameworks and principles to map customer lifecycles, crafting CX foundations for big companies.

Big picture thinking

Visualising ideas

I bring ideas to life - on paper, walls, or screens - to break down complexity. This process helps smooth conversations and create alignment across teams and stakeholders.

Understanding layers of complexity

Every situation has a story. Before changing or complaining, I like to understand the layers underneath - the decisions made, the priorities at play and why things are the way they are. This deeper understanding guides me towards desirable options and solutions that truly make a difference.

For me it’s about solving real customer problems that drive genuine business value. User experience sits at the heart of every product or journey, I take ownership of making sure every design decision, pixel and interaction makes things simple, intuitive, and delightful to use. This isn't just a process, it's a passion.

Aligning customer needs to business needs

Processes

Based on the situation, I leverage methodologies like Journey frameworks and the double diamond process. With experience in Agile and Human-Centered Design, I ensure meaningful impacts on projects.

My career so far…

I've had the privilege of working across diverse industries, including banks, telcos, software companies, and video startups, which has equipped me to tackle a wide range of challenges.

Everyone has a story and this is mine

My journey as a designer began with a childhood dream of being an artist, spending my days in the magic of drawing, painting and all things art. However, as I grew I followed the expected path of studying commerce, as art didn't fit the conventional mould for many Indian kids. After completing my studies, I was lucky enough to find my passion and follow my heart into design.

My move into UX was inspired by working with amazing individuals who played a pivotal role in shaping my professional path. Over the last 12 years, I've dedicated myself to collaborating with fantastic design gurus, collectively weaving stories into digital products and human experiences.

In 2014, my story took a new turn as I packed my dreams and creativity, leaving bustling Bangalore in India for the mind-blowing landscapes of New Zealand.

As a Senior Experience Designer at Westpac, I enjoy collaborating with a diverse team. Together, we shape stories and journeys for customers and staff, making the Westpac experience truly special.

As an INFP-A (Mediator), I'm naturally inclined towards the human dimension of design, consistently eager to listen to others' narratives, ensuring that empathy and understanding are at the core of every project

And so, my story continues...

Beyond the world of UX I find joy in

Photography: Capturing moments through the lens and exploring the visual narratives of life.
Movies: Immersing myself in the diverse stories and perspectives told through cinema.
Reading: Diving into literature, constantly seeking new insights and perspectives.

In every aspect of my life, whether designing experiences or indulging in personal interests, my goal is consistent - making a meaningful and positive impact on the world around me.
